Mrs. Borseth is excited to welcome you into our wonderful kindergarten class!
March 19, 2018
We had a great week in kindergarten, and loved the few sunny and warm days that we had. We got to enjoy reading in the courtyard and watching the older kids practice for the track meet, we loved cheering them on. In case you missed it, Mrs. Hewitt posted a glimpse of it on the school Facebook site. Friday ended with us having a fabulous Irish feast, complete with corned beef and all of the fixings. The students loved their special green drink and Irish flag jello. We read the story of Jamie O'Rourke and the Big Potato and the students predicted what they thought would happen after the leprechaun gave Jamie the potato seed. They also practiced their retelling and sequencing skills. In math we started learning about 3D shapes, and found that we have many in our room! Our new sight words for this week are: make, say, them, new, play, and give please practice these at home. Religion will focus on Lent. We are reading from The Jesus Storybook Bible each day, traveling from the Old Testament to the New Testament. Important Reminders: -On mass days, please remember that boys need to wear pants (no shorts) and girls need to wear skorts or jumpers (no pants or shorts). All students should have a school logo vest or sweater and a white, blue or red collared shirt. Questions or concerns may be emailed to Mrs. B. at email@example.com
